case study 1. killer game ‘blue whale’

russia is considered the homeland of ‘blue whale’. the game surfaced on the internet in 2013 and activated itself over the course of time. from november 2015 to april 2016 130 teenage suicides cases were recorded across russia.

in august 2018 it was reported that a new game ‘momo’ surfaced on the internet. ‘momo’s avatar image depicts japanese artist keisuke aisawa’s work ‘mother-bird’.

case study 4. cyberbullying of finnish journalist jessica aro

finnish investigative journalist jessica aro became the victim of a large-scale discreditation campaign conducted against her by pro-russian propagandists after she started to write articles about kremlin trolls in september 2014.
