On November 9, 2018, Ilia State University hosted a discussion on “Combating Disinformation - From Ukraine’s Experience to Baltic Elves”.

Artem Babak, investigative journalist and representative of Transparency International - Ukraine discussed with the students Ukraine’s experience on the challenges of hybrid war and combating misinformation, while discussion on Lithuania's experience in fighting against trolls was led by Giedrius Sakalauskas, online activist, representative of online resistance movement the “Baltic Elves. The discussion was moderated by David Sikharulidze, Chair of the Atlantic Council of Georgia. Giga Zedania, rector of Ilia State University and H.E.Giedrius Puodžiūnas, Ambassador of Lithuania to Georgia addressed the audience with welcome speeches.

The event was arranged by Media Development Foundation (MDF) in partnership with Ilia State University, within the framework of the project “Media Literacy Youth Lab for Responsible Media Consumption”, that is supported by the Embassy of the United States of America.
