Media Literacy Week

On March 11-16 Media Development Foundation (MDF) and Ilia State University will hold a Media Literacy Week aimed at promoting media and information literacy initiatives in Georgia.

The Week will open on March 11 with a training for teachers at Lanchkhuti Central Library, while on March 13 media and information literacy resources will be presented at Ilia State University. A guidebook for teachers, a web-page, online games and a teaching course on media and information literacy prepared for teachers training program at Ilia University that will launch at the University from spring will be presented at the event.

On March 14 Media Development Foundation will hold a media literacy training for the employees of Information Center on Nato and EU; on March 15 Open Society Foundation will host a presentation of a research “Informing Minority Populated Regions on the Issues of Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic Integration”; on March 16 a seminar “Measure the Truth” will be held at the youth center of Tserovani refugee settlement.

The events scheduled within the framework of media literacy week are held with the support of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Georgia, US Embassy Tbilisi, Open Society Foundation and in cooperation with Information Center on Nato and EU.
